Start Your Own Gourmet Coffee Business by Grinding Your Own Beans

May 19, 2012.

Most coffee lovers like buying their own beans and grinding them at home so they can have the freshest flavors possible. You can purchase the whole beans at any grocery or department stores as already packaged items or as loose beans in bins.

The loose items allow you to create your own unique blend of flavors by mixing them together. A lot of people start their own gourmet coffee business this way. You can purchase a commercial coffee grinder, which comes with a much larger container for grinding bigger amounts of beans at a time.

Some of the commercial products are also referred to as bulk grinders because they are designed to grind in large bulks. You can find these units available by some well known manufacturers such as Bunn. For creating a new business the units allow you to create unique blends in a fraction of the time it would take with a standard home machine. Because it is so powerful you could even take special request orders to custom blend products for your new customers. This machine is also an essential item for someone to have when opening up a new restaurant or coffee house.

In a restaurant setting it is not as practical to custom create special blends by order, but you can still make your own special products, which you can serve as well as sell in ground form. These grounds can be used to make all types of different beverages including espresso and lattes. The espresso cups are also designed differently than traditional mugs so you will need to purchase the right type of cup to go with the beverage. Using decorative and distinctive bags to hold the grounds that are available for sale, will also make them more appealing. There are a number of retailers online who will custom create any type of bag to suit your needs.
