After completion of breast augmentation recovery placement surgery you will probably awake feeling groggy, very tired, and sore because the anesthesia are wearing off. Breast implants, especially when placed submuscularly require several weeks until months after the breast augmentation recovery surgery to settle into their permanent position.
Swelling is very common after any type of surgery and breast augmentation recovery because the combination of increased volume from the breast implant and swelling from surgery may cause your breast to feel large, heavy and tight. The swelling may also extend downward into abdominal area; this is just a common side effect and nothing to worry about.
Wearing your supportive surgical garments as instructed will help. Sleeping in a reclining position may also help swelling to subside more quickly. Breast augmentation surgery may or may not cause bruising, but it is mild bruising, this may extend down to the abdomen, but it is not a complication. If you have large, firm and painful areas of bruising consult immediately with your surgeon. This may be hematoma which needs treatment. It is also common after breast augmentation recovery for the nipple to become either sensitive or numb, the change for sensation is due to disturbance of the nerve pathways during the surgery, but this nipple sensation is usually temporary. Experiencing pain after breast augmentation recovery is most often mild to moderate, ask your surgeon if you should take pain medication.
Pain will diminish rapidly during the first few days after surgery and continue to improve as the skin and muscles stretch to accommodate the implants. While the stretched out skin grows, it tends to itch quite a bit, check with your surgeon what type of anti-itching medication or ointment to use that will help alleviate side effects. Consult your surgeons for any other side effects such as constipation, appear of scar, or signs of infection. The best decision is to discuss with your surgeon the best methods, its signs, its treatment, its prevention, its medications available to help patients minimize side effects after breast augmentation recovery with its breast enlargement cost.
