Curtains add a wonderful decorative touch to any room in your house. However, curtains look especially nice in a young girl‘s bedroom.
A popular style for a feminine room is Priscilla curtains. These are practical yet frilly and are available in various solid colors or in patterns like floral or plaids. Priscilla curtains are an easy way to add a fluffy and ruffly princess touch to any little girl‘s room.
Some prefer patterns like seen on gingham curtains. The checker pattern accents a few dominant colors within the room. The common gingham pattern is red and white, but many more colors are easily found such as navy blue and white or dark green and lavender. The color combinations are numerous so there is sure to be one that is complementary to the other colors in the room.
Another option for a young girl‘s bedroom is to use long flowing drapes that hang from the ceiling to the floor. This creates a formal and elegant look. A teen or preteen girl might find this look very appealing since it seems more grown up. Long drapes are especially nice when hung with a lovely sheer material underneath. A wide variety of fabrics, colors, and patterns are available. Choose lightweight and softer fabrics in lighter hues to provide a more royal look.
If curtains are not practical, then another choice is to use roll up style blinds. These come in solid colors ranging from whites to bold colors as wells as various patterns like stripes and colorful polka dots. These are easy to install and tend to block outside light well. Blinds always look more girly if hung with a complementary valance above the blind. Valances are available in straight, pleated, and bouncy styles.
With all the choices available, there is sure to be a curtain or blind that is appropriate for your young girl’s bedroom.
