Home Depot’s Silby Hampton Bay Fan

If you have been a renter, you probably know how cheap landlords can be. They install only the most basic of appliances, sending out repairmen for a 15 year old appliance, never once thinking about spending the money on a new one.

Well, after you’ve moved up in the world and own a home, you have the option of obtaining upgrades. Upgrading your ceiling fans offers a great way to spruce up any room and can completely change the feel of a room. Some of the best ceiling fans spawn from the Hampton Bay line which is created by Home Depot.

For light colored rooms like kitchens, the white Silby fan is a good option. This particular fan is covered top to bottom in a crisp pure white color. It has the capacity to cool large rooms thanks to the 52 inch blade setup. The five blades are tilted at just the right angle to produce ample airflow. The Silby Hampton Bay ceiling fans can also be gentle, as they have three settings. These blades are quite special, as they can be reversed to show the color on the other side, which is maple. The light maple color maintains the light tones of the fan while allowing for a change in color every once in a while. The color of the blades can be selected during installation and changed at any time. Many fans by Hampton Bay are equipped with this feature.

Another defining feature of the Silby is the Spanish glass cover on the bottom. This light kit contains two candelabra style bulbs which are hidden beyond the fogged glass piece. The glass has a light yellow/amber color and is removable for bulb access. This light kit is purely optional and can even be left off. This fan uses only E12 bulbs, not the regular ones you are used to.
