Most of the highest paying jobs in America is in the medical profession. There are very few that aren’t.
The number of high paying jobs for the medical industry is only expected to rise over time with the new healthcare bill. It was going up anyways. It also happens to be a recession proof industry, which also brings a ton of job security along with the great pay.
One of the top paying jobs include oral and maxillofacial surgeons. These guys do oral surgery. That’s basically high level procedures on your mouth. They make around $200K per year.
You also have orthodontists in that category as well. They are the ones who help straighten your teeth. You are well aware of them and their costs if you have had kids that needed braces. Other doctors and surgeons are up there as well in pay.
Then you have CEO. These chief executive officers of companies are surprisingly not in the top 5 highest paying jobs. They are somewhere in the middle interestingly enough. Below them are more medical professions.
The highest paying jobs without a degree include air traffic controllers and nuclear operators. Most of them still have to be highly intelligent. They also go through intense training and filtering before they are allowed to work on the job.
Other’s that don’t require a college degree include sales jobs like selling life insurance and sales manager jobs. These you can work your way up no matter your educational background. These also happen to be jobs that a lot of people don’t want to do either.
For the amount of schooling and debt you go into to become a doctor or surgeon, it really doesn’t pay that much more than other careers. It does have tons of security, but with one malpractice lawsuit, you can be out of a job just like that.
